Help- Quick Search

Quick search option provides link to access gene information in InCardiome. To do this, User need to type a query text and hit a Quick Search button.

User can enter 3 types of queries in search

1. Protein name
2. Gene name
3. Any other term (eg. Infection or Inflammation)

The result page for this option will display all the genes associated with the given search term (eg. Infection search term provides 9 genes in result page as shown in figure 1)

Clicking on any gene provides information on identity of gene, protein name, cellular location, functions, Post Translation Modification (PTM) and link for other pages which includes Pathways, Protein-Protein interactions, SNP information, Knockout gene information, Gene expression profile in human and mice. User can also click on direct links for higly curated databases for further information.

Search by category

User can search information by clicking on any of the category mentioned below:

1. Therapy based classification
2. Function based classification
3. Risk factors based classification

1. Therapy based classification

If user wants information a specific drug, drug targets and linked all information, can click on therapy based classification. Therapy based criteria provides information on 12 different drug classes, i.e. Anticoagulants, Antiplatelet Agents, Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitors, Angiotensin II Recepor Blockers, Angiotensin-Receptor Neprilysin Inhibitors (ARNIs), Beta Blockers, Combined alpha and beta-blockers, Calcium Channel Blockers, Cholesterol-lowering medications, Digitalis Preparations, Diuretics and Vasodilators. Each class has individual page of drugs, drug targets and interacting InCardiome gene information in network form which further links with Clinical Trial information and basic information page (result for Antiplatelet agents is shown in figure 2).

2. Function based classification

In the function category 13 Functional Communicating Ontologies (FCOs) are shown in hierarchical system where user can reach to basic information page and other information by clicking the gene node. In the this category of search, we implemented risk factors association with disease and its important function along with genes. As stated above in search category using FCO, user can click on specific gene to reach basic and other information as shown in figure 3.

3. Risk factors based classification

In the risk factor categorization analysis we have used to assess the risk predictive ability of combined and individual risk factors of Hypertension, Diabetes and Obesity. Clicking on risk factor category, shows the venn diagramm where user can select any risk factors combination to know the associated risks which was calculated based on 10217 patient samples. Along with risk factors association, we have also provided information on enriched functions and genes linked with each combination of the risk factors. User can also get the gene specific information by clicking as shown in figure 4.

Basic gene information page

Along with gene categorization, we have provided important information about gene such as Pathways, SNP, Gene phenotype, Location of Gene product, Clinical trials, Gene-ontology and Protein-protein interaction (PPI), Functions, PTMs and Chromosome information. Additionally, we have also provided links with Ensemble, UniProt, ClinicalTrails.gov, DrugBank, dbSNP and pathway database (result page for GGT1 is shown in figure 5).
